Welcome to the new and improved photography blog of Todd Pellowe. I'm a wedding photographer based out of Louisville, Kentucky. My goal at every wedding I shoot is to tell an authentic story that is as beautiful as it is artistic. This blog serves as a creative outlet where I can post my favorite images from weddings and other shoots. Along with images from weddings and engagement sessions, you're likely to find images of my family (check out the "personal" category to see the latest on the Pellowe family) and other random images from our adventures through life. If you're a prospective client, friend or fellow wedding photographer, I hope you enjoy looking through the galleries.

Eleanor + Sean | Louisville Wedding at The Brown Hotel

Jul 29 | Weddings

Wedding Dress: Monique Lhuillier
Ceremony: St. Agnes Church
Reception: Crystal Ballroom at the Brown Hotel
Planner: Maggie Heely, Weekend Wedding Warrior

This wedding was all kinds of fun. Eleanor's family is perhaps the most thoughtful group of warm-hearted people I know. Sean's family? They're just crazy.

Rachel + Erik | Good Ol' Kentucky Wedding on a Farm

Jul 20 | Weddings

Rachel and Erik had an amazing wedding on the same farm where her parents were married decades before. The atmosphere was magic, especially as the light changed throughout the day. In a lot of ways, it was like a wedding back in time. We were in the middle of nowhere and you just got the feeling that the way they did life on that farm hadn't changed much over the years.

Ten Days

Jul 15 | Slideshows

I was at Avery's swim meet a few weeks ago and ran into my friend, Todd. "Have you heard?" He asked. I had no idea what he was talking about. "Sarah's brother, Ben, was killed last night in a car accident." My heart immediately sank with sorrow. Sarah, is the girl with a hundred best friends. I had gotten to know her when I shot her friend Sarah's wedding. And then got to know her more when I shot her friend Ashley's wedding...

Our dear friend Sarah just lost her dear brother. And to make matters worse, her wedding was just ten days away. And I was shooting it.

I didn't know how the wedding day would unfold at all. To have only 10 days between experiencing the worse loss of your life and your wedding is impossible for me to even wrap my mind around. But with the help of all those best friends, it happened. Not only did it happen, but it was amazing and meaningful and beautiful. Like the bracelet that was given as a gift to her by her bridal shop. Like the boutonniere and tie in Ben's honor. Like the millions of hugs. Like the most heart-felt toast ever from her BFF Brittany. Like their first dance, where they danced to a song that helped them through the last ten days called, "Beautiful Things".

All this pain
I wonder if I’ll ever find my way.
I wonder if my life could really change at all.
All this earth
Could all that is lost ever be found?
Could a garden come up from this ground at all?

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust.
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us.

All around
Hope is springing up from this old ground.
Out of chaos life is being found in You.

You make me new, You are making me new.
You make me new, You are making me new.

You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of the dust.
You make beautiful things
You make beautiful things out of us.

You can also view the slideshow at this link.

Thank you Sarah and Jay for letting me witness the garden that has come up from your rocky soil. It truly is a beautiful thing.
