Todd Pellowe's Blog | Louisville Wedding Photographer
Welcome to the new and improved photography blog of Todd Pellowe. I'm a wedding photographer based out of Louisville, Kentucky. My goal at every wedding I shoot is to tell an authentic story that is as beautiful as it is artistic. This blog serves as a creative outlet where I can post my favorite images from weddings and other shoots. Along with images from weddings and engagement sessions, you're likely to find images of my family (check out the "personal" category to see the latest on the Pellowe family) and other random images from our adventures through life. If you're a prospective client, friend or fellow wedding photographer, I hope you enjoy looking through the galleries.
Don't forget to let me know you were here by dropping some blog love in a comments section.

There are no words for the awesomeness that is Hannah and Anthony. But I do need to mention that Hannah has the coolest bride's blog I've ever seen. Looking at it makes me SO excited to shoot her wedding. Check it out!
Two of Hannah's favorite things: paper cranes and quilts. (The goal is to make 1000 cranes for the November wedding.)
Believe me, getting four giant letter balloons to line up just right takes an extreme amount of patience.
Special thanks to Hannah's sister, Leah, for driving me around in the Kubota for this series. Leah, you pretty much rock.
I've been wanting to create a video that would help potential clients who come to my website get to know me and my style. Well I've finally done something about it. With the help of Erin and Dennis at Classic Pixels and my loving, extremely helpful wife (who interviewed me) we've produced something I'm really proud of. Check it out. And seriously, if you're looking at having a film made of your wedding, check Erin and Dennis out. As you can see from the video, they're totally legit.
I'd love to hear what you think about the video. I welcome your thoughts/comments! And for all you iPhone, iPad, mobile users, you can view the video on vimeo.
Getting Ready: The Brown Hotel
Wedding Planner: Ellen Fox, Shafox Weddings (and Maggie and Jessica, her superhero sidekicks)
Ceremony Music: Jack Griffin, Commonwealth Musicians
Venue: My Old Kentucky Home in Bardstown, Kentucky
Three cool things about this wedding:
Abraham and Mary Todd Lincoln were guests (seriously, I have proof.)
John and Erin had a huge supply of cigars and small batch bourbons at the reception... when in Bardstown, right?
John's mom gave a toast that made everyone crack up. She said something like, "50 years ago I went out and found the smartest, best looking man I could find. You know why? Because I didn't want dumb, ugly kids."
During some family photos at the Brown, one of Erin's friends struck a pose for a laugh. Vavoom!
I couldn't resist.
That's right. Abraham Lincoln and his wife Mary Todd were guests at the wedding. (John and Erin are huge Lincoln fans.)
This is John's mom. I fell in love with her. She's as kind as she is beautiful.
It's tradition in John's family that the eldest male family member say a toast/blessing. Then they all take a pull of bourbon from the bottle.
