Brown Eyes |

Jul 9
|

| We just got back from our family vacation up north. I took a few photos while I was up there. This one is of my brown-eyed girl, Lerran. |

| I'll try to post some more photographs over the next few weeks. |

| Here are some of the latest images of my wonderful and sometimes crazy kids. Here's Lerran with her uncontrollable hair and incredible brown eyes. |

| Our neighbor's dog, Lucy. |

| Ever try to get 4 kids to hold still on a bail of hay? It's near impossible. Don't even think about getting them all to laugh at once. I love this photograph for a lot of reasons. I love the blank stare on Grant's face, the drool on Quinn's chin and the way I can remember Emily bouncing up and down behind me trying so hard to get them all to smile. |

Emily's Trip to Haiti |

Mar 8
|

Recently, my beautiful wife, Emily, took an opportunity to use her nursing skills to help the amazing people of Haiti. She worked her tail off for 10 straight days delivering babies, administering medication and occasionally painting little fingernails.
Before she left, I gave her one of my favorite little instant cameras. The original idea was to bring back a bunch of cool Polaroids of the faces she came across, but what ended up happening was so much cooler. Many of the people she met didn't have a single picture of themselves or their loved ones. So Emily ended up taking and giving away a ton of photographs. There were several instances where, after she delivered a baby, she was able to take a few photos and give them to the mother as the only account of the birth. When I first heard about this, my eyes welled up with tears. She said that taking and giving these pictures was one of the highlights of her trip.
Here are some of the duplicates that she managed to keep for herself. |

It's Been WAY Too Long (Pellowe Family Pictures) |

The tribe council has spoken. The blog needs more pictures of my family. We had an opportunity a few days ago. The weather was perfect and I was already shooting a session near our house. So I called Emily and she brought the kids out to meet me at a nearby hayfield.
Here's Avery. She's four and is constantly picking flowers and other things of interest. |

| That's Lerran in the Gumby rain boots. I don't think they've come off her feet since Emily bought them. |

| Quinn (left) and Grant (right) who are now 5 months old... Seriously time, can you slow down a little bit? |

| If I was being held by that gorgeous woman, I'd be smiling too. |

| Emily snapped a few shots of me. When I viewed these for the first time, I was moved. I remembered the power of what I do and the value of having images of you with the ones you love. I don't care who takes the photos, but get your picture made with the ones you love. |
