Todd Pellowe's Blog | Louisville Wedding Photographer

Welcome to the new and improved photography blog of Todd Pellowe. I'm a wedding photographer based out of Louisville, Kentucky. My goal at every wedding I shoot is to tell an authentic story that is as beautiful as it is artistic. This blog serves as a creative outlet where I can post my favorite images from weddings and other shoots. Along with images from weddings and engagement sessions, you're likely to find images of my family (check out the "personal" category to see the latest on the Pellowe family) and other random images from our adventures through life. If you're a prospective client, friend or fellow wedding photographer, I hope you enjoy looking through the galleries.
Don't forget to let me know you were here by dropping some blog love in a comments section.

Elizabeth + John | Louisville Wedding at Gingerwoods |

Aug 17 | Weddings
|

| Warm. Warm is the word that comes to mind thinking back on Elizabeth and John's wedding. And while it was quite warm outside, it was the warmth felt between Elizabeth and John as well as their friends and family that makes me think of the word. I could really sense a wonderful connection between them all day. (Which makes my job so much fun!) One of the highlights for me was listening to Elizabeth's father play a beautiful rendition of "How Deep the Father's Love For Us" on the classical guitar before he walked her down the aisle. I get so spoiled as a wedding photographer hearing such great live music week in and week out. |

| I just love the field across the street from Gingerwoods. We walked down a little ways and found a marshy spot with moors. |

| The cake topper was the same one that her grandparents used at their wedding. |

| I just love how all the girls (and John) are dancing in one spot and all the guys are looking from the sidelines. |

Sarah + Sam | Wedding in Portland, Maine |

Aug 12 | Weddings
|

There are so many things that made Sam and Sarah's wedding special. Sarah, two of the bridesmaids (Another Sarah and Selda) and I went to grade school together back in Portage, Michigan. (West Middle School, represent!) We had lost contact until recently when Sarah found out I was a wedding photographer. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was headed out to Portland Maine for their wedding.
The wedding itself was perfect. Most of the bridal party work in New York City in the musical theater business. Derek, a groomsman, composed elements of the wedding music and performed it incredibly well. (I still want those recordings Derek!) Several of their closest friends recited original poetry during the ceremony, including a beautiful poem written by Sam's father. Like I said, perfect.
Then there was the fact that we were in MAINE and had locations like THIS! |

| Sarah tries on the totally blinging diamond necklace. |

| I loved Sam's tailored suit. So money. |

| This is Pearl. She's a 21 year-old beauty inside a 96 year-old body. |

| Turns out New York City theater professionals have amazingly clever wedding details. |

| It might be a stretch, but I think this clam-shell looks like a heart. |

| The speeches were "try to pull yourself together or else you just might die laughing" funny. |

| And Selda wrote an incredibly sweet, hysterically funny song and sang it with Derek. |

| I had to put these on the blog Brian! |

| Cotton candy, make your own cupcakes and shots of milk? Yes please! |

| It isn't a party until the bride has lifted up the back of your dress to air out. |

Christy + Greg | Frazier Arms Museum Wedding |

| Hello friends. Here are some photographs from a great rooftop wedding at the Frazier Historical Arms Museum. |

| I think I almost witnessed a murder during the bouquet toss. |

| Greg was mixing it something fierce on the turntables. |

Casey + Russ | Louisville Wedding at the Brown Hotel |

Aug 3 | Weddings
|

| I shot Casey and Russ' wedding a few weeks back at the Brown Hotel. There was all kinds of awesome at this wedding. Gobs and gobs of laughs, great eye contact, emotions and details. I've got to give a big shout out to Lauren Chitwood and her posse. I've shot dozens of weddings at the Brown Hotel and I've never seen it look as good as they made it look. Lauren is a rare combination of talent and charisma that you just don't see everyday. You killed it Lauren! |
